Group Point System and Motivation

Dear all,

We started the group points system today and I can see that it is effective in maintaining the classroom discipline and to also motivate all of you to work together and help one another. Bond with your group mates and do the best you can. Points are not everything and most importantly, it is the process of working together.

At the end of each term, prizes will be handed out to the top 3 groups. As for the group with the lowest point, I will find a way to help you bond together and work better.

Prizes will also be given to:

  • Group leader(s) of the term
  • Pupil of the term
Work hard for it :)

Dear parents,

Do take note that your child should have showed you their spelling list. Do guide them and help them along. This year, we have changed things up a bit. 8 Spelling words are given and 2 sentences with good vocabularies are given. The students are to learn the 2 sentences but I will only be picking one good vocabulary word from the sentence to test them for spelling. Spelling is a good way to help the pupils memorise and practise. The good way to learn spelling is to write the word repeatedly and then for you to test your child. Repetition is a good way to help remember.

As for dictation, if you find it difficult to remember, break up the passage into phrases or sentences and slowly work on them. You should zoom into the difficult vocabulary words and remember these words. However, do not forget about the simple words too.

Mondays - Spelling
Fridays - Dictation

Do remember to bring your newspapers each day for the recycling competition and your CNY decorations. Together, we can achieve!

Sincerely,
Mr Nelson Ong
